AWI CERTIFICATION

Contractor Awareness and Notification of the AWI QCP Project Requirement.

The project that is bidding is AWI QCP specified by the design team. The Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Quality Certification Program Licensed Woodworkers selected for this project will assure the quality intended.

Why work with a Licensed Woodworker?

In the execution of most construction projects it is unlikely [and a violation of local building codes] to contract the plumbing or electrical work to a firm that is not licensed.

Why then should the woodwork be at risk?

The Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Quality Certification Program, Licenses woodworkers.

The AWI’s Quality Certification Program has a rigorous vetting process;
Licensed Firms are required to:

• Provide ten trade references,
• Complete test on the Architectural Woodwork Standards
• Complete Shop Drawing review
• Have plant inspection
• Provide samples of work for qualified AWS sections
• Have first two QCP projects inspected

As proof of the attainment of AWI QCP requirements and qualification to bid this project, the Licensed Woodwork proudly presents their Certificate of Achievement.

The licensed woodworker will provide the certificates and/or product labeling requirements as specified.
